Bournemouth Junior Chess Update

A REMINDER THAT THE CLUB IS CLOSED FOR 2 WEEKS (7/2 & 14/2) AND WILL RE-OPEN ON THE 21/2.
It was great to see another good turnout of 21 players yesterday. All were very keen, enthusiastic and there were some excellent games played. Well done all!
Highlights:
Dorset Closed Congress
Reporting on the Dorset Closed Congress played last weekend and it was good to see 4 players from our club in competition.
PETER scored 4/5 to come =1st – an excellent result!
NICOLAS won a rating prize scoring 3/5
Both NEIL and KAUTUM did themselves proud in scoring points.
We encourage all our players to enter and play in local competitive competitions and with the Annual Junior Congress coming up on the 1st March we hope to have a good entry from our club.

Session Activities
Eric went through Jonathan Nunn’s 1001 Puzzles with KIT (6 years old) and he did really well solving the first 12 puzzles.
Second session intermediates were shown the French Defence opening by Paul on the large simul board. I hope KOKO/NEIL/NILAY/MANVIK/JAKE and TEO will try to put into practice.
